Good News & Bad News
Bad News First
Due to economic reasons, the National Student Conference will not be taking place this year.
Good News: The Show Must Go On
We are still organizing a National Student Show to recognize and award the best student work the nation has to show off. Winning entries will be posted online and published in a first-ever annual that will go to the top creative shops in the country.
More Good News
The original submission deadline has been moved back two months. The deadline is now April 16th, so you have more time this semester to perfect your work. So students, get your best work together, and mail in your entries for your chance at cash prizes and recognition nationwide.
More information about the show, and Entry forms to download will be posted on the official website by February.

So, the bad news is that you are too short on cash to put anything together for us students. But, the good news is that we can still send you our money?

Shaun- We are still giving out scholarships to all of the award winning work, we just can’t afford to host the full on conference this year.

I really appreciate that the show is going on! This is great news for students. What I don’t understand, however, is why we still have to mail in our physical pieces, as there is no literal ’show’ for them to be displayed in. I understand from the judges point of view that one gets a much better feel for the work if you can actually hold it and go through pages etc. This is true.
However, as we are sacrificing the conference for financial reasons, does it not make sense to save EVERYONE money so that we dont have to pay out of the wazoo for shipping? Also, as the deadline got pushed back, it is now REALLY close to graduation, and we are all freaking out trying to get everything ready for our graduation shows. All of a sudden we are faced with the fact that we are going to have to make another copy of our best pieces because we have to send them all in to dallas, and never get them back (at least not in time for the graduation shows).
All i’m trying to say is that although I am glad and totally grateful that the show is going on, it seems that certain other details should change to accommodate the altered show. It would save hundreds of students a lot of money and stress if we could simply send in digital versions of our work. Also, since there is a book being made out of the show, you would already have all the digital files needed for it.
Just a thought.
